New Photo of Vicki Vicki M. Taylor lives in Tampa, Florida with her husband, Greg and their American Eskimo dog, Jack and Sun Conure parrot named Bailey. Greg's hobbies include photography, saltwater aquariums, and scuba diving. Vicki won't scuba dive with her husband but she loves to snorkel!

Vicki was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan but soon discovered she and snow and cold did not get along. After joining the U.S. Marines, Vicki spent time in Parris Island, South Carolina and then Twenty-Nine Palms, CA. Vicki moved to Arizona and had three wonderful children. With her children grown, Vicki moved to Florida and remarried. She sometimes misses having little ones around the house. Of course, that has all changed now that she's become a grandmother.

Vicki and her husband, Greg may be living in the land of vacation, but their lifestyle is far from relaxing. By day, Greg is a computer programmer and also runs a couple of very busy computer networks and maintains a saltwater reef forum and a companion bird forum . With a degree in Computer Science and fifteen years of technical writing experience, Vicki retired from running her own technical writing consulting company and turned to writing fiction full time. Greg indulges his hobbies of scuba diving and photography while Vicki is actively involved in local writing groups such as the RWA Tampa Area Romance Authors and was a founding member of the Florida Writers Association . Vicki has been a member of the National Association and Short Fiction Mystery Society and the National Association of Women Writers. She's the past President and a founding member of the Florida Writers Association Inc. and the 2008 President of Wizards of Words, a national writers organization. She maintains a writers' resource forum and enjoys maintaining her own website and Facebook page and blog as well as blogs for her American Eskimo dog , Jack and her Sun Conure parrot , Bailey.

She also writes for the International Bipolar Foundation and maintains a lifestyle blog at My Balanced Life.

Vicki also likes to fly stunt kites, shoot handguns, and collect teddy bears. When she can, she likes to sneak in some time to watch America's Funniest Videos. She loves the show. Her current favorite television shows are: Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, The Big Bang Theory, and Scandal. She and her husband have an extensive movie library and like to curl up together and enjoy movie night on a regular basis.

Of course, reading and writing rank high on her list of to-do's. Some of her favorite authors include, Stephen King, Patricia Cornwell, Tim Dorsey, Lisa Gardner, Piers Anthony, Robert Heinlein, Linda Howard, Jodi Picoult, Ellen Meister, Jane Porter, Janet Evonovich, Roxanne St. Clair, Marliss Melton, C.L. Wilson, Julie Leto, Susan Kearney, Karen Kendall, Kathy Carmichael, Nora Roberts, and a slew of others.

In August, 2007 Vicki was inducted into the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame. Each member is handpicked by the founder, Bevery Mahone. It's a great honor to be included in the company of so many successful women of the boomer generation. She's very proud to be a Diva logo

For pleasure, Vicki enjoys reading pretty much everything, but especially enjoys criminal stories and other stories with a mysterious and horror -like influence. Her favorite author is Stephen King. She practically devours anything Patricia Cornwell releases. She writes in the Women's Fiction genre, so enjoys reading as much WF as she can. Her To Be Read pile double stacks knee-high next to her desk and on her iPad. She loves discovering new authors so if you think you've written something Vicki might enjoy, contact her. She's recently started reading lighter fiction, such as Jane Porter, Meg Cabot, and Joan Johnston, and more. So, if you have books in that genre, please pass them along.

Most of Vicki's time is spent working at her computer. She usually has several stories in progress. She spends a great deal of time reading e-mail from the various lists and e-groups she's joined. She absorbs all of these little pearls of wisdom from her computer and hopes that she gives back in return. Her inbox overflows with letters from her fans and friends. She'd like to hear from you as well. Click HERE to send Vicki a message.
